Ireland has emerged as an attractive destination for international students seeking work opportunities. Several tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, Meta, PayPal, indeed, LinkedIn and others have set up their European headquarters in Ireland owing to the large talent base the country has to offer. Additionally, Ireland's favorable immigration policies allow international students to work part-time during their studies and gain valuable professional experience.

Students from the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland can generally work or study without restrictions in Ireland. This includes internships as well as working after graduation.For non-EEA/ Swiss students, also classified as non-EU students, a student visa is required to study.

Students on a Study Visa can work up to 20 hours per week during term time and 40 hours per week during holidays. After graduation, students can apply for a work permit to stay in Ireland and work full-time. The length of the work permit depends on the level of course completed:

- Regular bachelor’s degree - up to 6 months
- Honors bachelor's degree - up to 12 months
- Postgraduate Diploma/ Master’s degree or higher - up to 24 months
