Duolingo Exam Fees

Duolingo’s refund and cancellation policy is straightforward but has important conditions. Candidates should read the terms carefully before purchasing a test.

Standard Test Attempt:

• Duolingo does not offer refunds once a test attempt has been purchased and the test session has been started.
• If you purchase a test but have not yet started it, you may be eligible for a refund — contact Duolingo support directly.
• Technical failures on Duolingo’s end may qualify for a retest or refund on a case-by-case basis.

Official Practice Test:

• The practice test fee is generally non-refundable once purchased.
• Practice test scores are not shared with institutions and are for personal preparation only.

Score Invalidation:

• If your score is invalidated due to a violation of test rules or suspicious activity, no refund is provided.
• Duolingo reserves the right to cancel any test result found to be fraudulent without issuing a refund.
