Lettter of Recommendation

A Letter of Recommendation (LOR) is a formal written document provided by someone who has closely worked with or taught the applicant, such as a professor, employer, or supervisor, and can attest to their skills, character, and accomplishments. 

It plays a vital role in the study abroad application process, as it gives admission committees an external perspective on the applicant’s academic abilities, personal qualities, and overall suitability for the chosen program. A LOR highlights the recommender’s relationship with the applicant, specific strengths or achievements, and concrete examples that support the applicant’s potential for success. 

These letters help universities evaluate a candidate beyond grades and test scores, making them a crucial part of any strong application. Most universities abroad ask for two to three LORs, depending on the program and level of study.
