Section 1: IELTS Speaking Introduction and Interview

The examiner will begin by asking for your name and passport. Following a brief introduction, you’ll be asked general questions about your life, such as your work, studies, home, family, and hobbies.

Section 2: Long Turn

You’ll receive a topic card and have a minute to prepare a two-minute speech. After delivering your speech, the examiner may ask follow-up questions.

Section 3: Discussion

The final section involves a more in-depth discussion with the examiner. They will ask questions related to the topic from Section 2, exploring broader issues and abstract ideas.

IELTS Speaking Part 1: Introduction (4-5 minutes)

Topic: Home and Living

  1. Where is your hometown?
    • Can you describe it for me?
    • What do you like most about your hometown?
  2. Do you live in a house or an apartment?
    • Can you describe your home?
    • What is your favorite room in your home and why?
  3. How long have you lived in your current home?
    • What do you like about your neighborhood?
    • Would you like to move to a different place in the future?

IELTS Speaking Part 2: Long Turn (3-4 minutes)

Cue Card Task: Describe a Memorable Journey

Describe a journey that you particularly enjoyed.

You should say:

  • Where you went
  • Who you went with
  • What you did during the journey
  • And explain why this journey was memorable to you

Preparation time: 1 minute Speaking time: 1-2 minutes

Follow-up Discussion on Travel and Journeys

  1. How has travel changed in recent years?
    • What impact has technology had on modern travel?
    • Do you think people travel more or less compared to the past?
  2. What are the benefits of traveling?
    • How can travel help people understand different cultures?
    • Do you think international travel is important for personal development?
  3. What are the environmental concerns related to travel?
    • How can travelers reduce their carbon footprint?
    • Do you support sustainable tourism?
